Aaron R. Thomas is currently working with Stefanie Phan Fine Jewelry to develop her debut collection. Featured here, Thomas gives the editor-turned-jewelry designer lessons in acrylic forming. Inspired by a special dinner, Stefanie wanted to take oyster shells from the evening and turn them into a mod-sea goddess inspired necklace. Using acrylic mirror, black and clear acrylic, the master craftsman showed her how to heat and hand-shape each oyster shell for her necklace design, which features clusters of diamonds and pearls.
