The first of our Nest Series of Chandeliers/Sculptures is an artistic collaboration between Aaron R Thomas and Anne Ewen. Nest refers to the look and the process of creating the chandeliers. Aaron and Anne weave countless loops and curls of re-claimed acrylic/lucite and bullet-proof glass together organically, like a pair of orioles, letting the piece take shape as they go in the strenuous, time-consuming building process. There is an element of found art and a randomness in the materials that are woven in one-by-one because we try to limit it to reclaimed material, keeping it as “green” as possible, and making each piece entirely unique.
