Steel and Acrylic Sculpture

Aaron built this enormous sculpture out of a solid piece of six inch thick acrylic from the aerospace industry. He chiseled it by hand before hand painting the different contours. To support this piece, he used a geometric grid of steel I-beams painted with a pearlescent green and violet paint. The acrylic is supported by only a “tuning fork” strategically placed. This piece balances perfectly at this daring angle. While moving it on the forklift, the entire piece flexed and torqued in perfect balance.
